Hotel Information

The NMC Annual Meeting will be held at The Westin Charlotte Hotel. Situated in the uptown financial district of North Carolina's most exciting city, the Westin Charlotte is just a short walk or trolley-ride away from popular dining and entertainment.

The hotel is 100% smoke free, with sleeping rooms that include high speed internet, coffee maker, hair dryer, and ironing board. Runner's World maps are available featuring 3-mile and 5-mile jogging/walking routes from the hotel. A business center is also available to guests.

Room rates are $149 single and $159 double (plus applicable state and local tax). All reservations are subject to availability and should be received by December 31, 2008. Rooms may still be available after the cut-off date, but not necessarily at the convention rate. If rate requested is not available, the nearest available rate will be assigned. Your reservation must be guaranteed by one night's deposit or by credit card. Check-in time is 3:00 pm; check-out is 12:00 noon. Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the arrival date.

The Westin's "Green" Policy: NMC strives to hold conferences at hotels that are committed to implementing environmentally-friendly practices. The Westin Charlotte recently put several "green initiatives" into practice such as recycling glass, aluminum, card board, and plastic from all banquet and catering events, as well as, the kitchen, Bar 10, and Ember Grill; The hotel also utilizes low water flow feature on shower heads to save water, decreased use of outdoor ornamental fountains and watering of outside landscaping, has implemented a green program for guest room linen and towels, is currently transferring from Incandescent light bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs, and is working with the current chemical supply company to use new environmentally friendly chemicals in all guest room products.

How to Get There

Air Transporation:
Charlotte is serviced by the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), which is located 7 miles from the Westin Hotel. The hotel does not operate a shuttle service to the ariport. Recommended transportation is by taxi. The approximate cost is $22 - $24.

From Interstate 85 (North)
Take Interstate 85 South and take Exit 38 to Interstate 77 South. Continue on I-77 South to John Belk Freeway (Exit 9B). Take the College Street Exit and proceed to the hotel located on the right.

From East
Take Interstate 40 West to Interstate 85 South. Continue on I-85 South to Interstate 77 South. Proceed on I-77 to the John Belk Freeway (Exit 9B). Take the College Street Exit and proceed to the hotel located on the right.

From Asheville (West)
Take Interstate 240 West to Interstate 26 East. Continue on I-26 East to County Road 74 East. Then proceed to Interstate 85 East. Continue on I-85 to Interstate 77 South. Exit onto John Belk Freeway (Exit 9B) and proceed to the College Street Exit. Exit onto College Street and proceed to the hotel located on the right.

From Charlotte Douglas International Airport
Take the Airport Freeway to Billy Graham Parkway South. Take Interstate 77 North to John Belk Freeway (Exit 9B). Exit on College Street and continue to the hotel located on the right.

From Interstate 85 (South)
Take Interstate 85 North to Freedom Drive (Exit 34). From Freedom Drive, merge onto Interstate 277 North via the ramp on the left. Then take the College Street Exit towards downtown. The hotel is located on the right.

From Independence Boulevard (East)
Take US Highway 74 West and take the Stonewall Street Exit. Turn left onto Stonewall Street. After passing the first stop light, turn into the parking center (please note, this is not the main entrance to the hotel).

From Interstate 77 (South)
Take Interstate 77 North John Belk Freeway (Exit 9B). Take the College Street Exit and proceed to the hotel located on the right.
